BASKETBALL

Biddy and Jr. Biddy Basketball
Lancaster Biddy Basketball Association

The Lancaster Biddy Basketball Association offers basketball opportunities
for boys and girls from the 3rd through 6th grade.

Biddy Basketball:
To be eligible to participate in the Biddy Basketball League, a player must be in
the 5th or 6th grade
AND must attend the Lancaster City Schools; or if
Home-Schooled a player must be in the 5th or 6th grade
AND live in the Lancaster
City School District. 6th Grade Students who played on a Biddy Team in the 5th grade
will return to the team of which they played. 6th Graders who have not played in the
Biddy Leagues will try out for the elementary school they attended last year. If new to
the area, the player will tryout for the school district in which they live.
Home-Schooled Children will try out for the elementary school in which district they
live. Players cannot play more than 2 years in the Boys' and Girls' Biddy Leagues.

Registration takes place in the fall and is $50 per player. Registration information will
be advertised in local papers, fliers will be distributed to students at the schools, and
information will be available on the Lancaster Biddy Website. Registration forms and
fees will be taken through the coach and paid to the LBBA before the first week of
games. Registration fees and release forms from each parent or guardian must be
turned in before the first game of the season. If the release forms and fees are not
turned in by the first game of the season, that player will be declared ineligible.

Jr. Biddy Basketball:
To be eligible to participate in the Junior Biddy Basketball League, a player must
be in the 3rd or 4th grade
AND attend the Lancaster City Schools or attend a county
school within Fairfield County. 5th and 6th graders may also participate in the Junior
Biddy Leagues if they attend the Lancaster City Schools but did not make a Biddy
Team, or if they attend a surrounding county school. Home-Schooled Children who
are in the 3rd or 4th grade may participate in the Junior Biddy Leagues. 5th and 6th
grade home-schooled students who did not make the Biddy Team are also eligible to
play in the Junior Biddy Leagues.

Registration takes place in the fall and is $50 per player. Registration information will
be advertised in local papers, fliers will be distributed to students at the schools, and
information will be available on the Lancaster Biddy Website. Registration forms and
fees are collected at the Junior Biddy Drafts. Registration fees and release forms from

The Fox Family YMCA offers Gymnastics programs for children ages 22 months
to 12 years of age. Sessions are anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks long and run continuously
throughout the year.

Gymnastics classes include:

Tumble Bears and Dancing Bears: This class is designed for children 22 months
to 3 ½ years of age and their parent/guardian.
Tumble Tots: For children ages 3 ½ to 5 years old
Tumble Juniors: For children ages 4 to 5 years old who have successfully
completed the Tumble Tots class.
Rollers, Swingers and Kippers: For children ages 5 to 12 years old. These three
classes are beginner, intermediate and advanced level classes divided respectfully by
age and ability. Gymnasts must successfully complete each level before moving on to
the next level.

Gymnastics programs are offered by the Hocking Valley Youth Sport Center
for children as young as one (if they are able to walk) and up.

"Funtastics Gymnastics" is for boys and girls in Kindergarten or younger.
These classes include:
Tumble Cubs: For children from walking to age 3 or 4 and a parent.
Tumble Bears: For 3 and 4 year old children without a parent.
Bouncing Bears: For 4 and 5 year old children, or one year before Kindergarten.
Kinder Bears: For children from 5 to 6 years old, or enrolled in Kindergarten.

"Startastics Gymnastics" is for boys and girls who are in 1st Grade or
older.
These classes include:
Tumblers: Separated by age and gender, these classes take students with little or no
experience and give them a firm foundation in the sport. Students stay in this class
until they are ready for the High Flyers class.
High Flyers: Separated by age and gender, these classes are for intermediate
students. Skills worked on are a continuation of skills learned in the Tumblers class.
Classes are 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Gym Troupe: Gym Troupe is a performance group which uses gymnastics and
dance skills along with music. Gym Troupe I is for 1st Grade and up. A
Backhandspring is required for Gym Troupe II.
Ultimate Athlete: This is a gymnastics based class for junior and senior high school
age boys and girls who want to be better at any sport, whether it be soccer,
skate-boarding or football! Gymnastics is used to develop kinesthetic awareness,
strength and coordination.

Sessions are typically 8 weeks long and run continuously from August through June.
The cost per session is $108.00 for a 45 minute or 1 hour class. 1 hour and 15 minute
classes cost $135.00. There is also a yearly registration fee. For more information on

The Lancaster Soap Box Derby is dedicated to teaching the youth of South East
Ohio how to become a better, more imaginative, self confident team player, which
will prepare them for the future. By working together with their family, friends, and
peers in the building and competing of the Soap Box Derby Race Car, today’s youth
will learn the power of teamwork, the pride of sportsmanship, and the lessons for life
skills.

What you need to do to get started: 1) You need to be at least 8 years old. 2) You must
have a parent or guardian to work with you on your car (this is a family sport). 3)

can get you signed up and get all your paperwork to you, like rules, regulations, order
form for your car, etc. 4) You’ll need to get yourself a sponsor. You can have more

and you need a car sponsor (these are usually the same sponsor). Your car sponsor
helps you fund your car. Which, depending on which division you will be racing in

British Soccer Camps provide young players with the rare opportunity to receive
high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts right in the heart of
their own community. Each British Soccer Camp provides players of all ages and
abilities the appropriate program and level of curriculum and a wonderful cultural
and educational camp experience! Each day includes individual foot skills, technical
drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and a daily
tournament. Equally important, the Challenger coaching staff provides your child
with lessons in self-discipline, good sportsmanship and respect for others and for the

The Fox Family YMCA offers a "Pee Wee" Soccer program designed to provide
boys and girls ages 3-6 with a positive introduction to the sport. The goal of each class
is to instill character building values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility
into each participant.

Players in the "Pee Wee" program will learn the basics in dribbling, passing and
shooting during a non-competitive class session. All classes will be held on Saturday.
The first session typically begins in late fall (Oct.) with another session following in
the winter (Jan).

With a total of 62 teams and close to 850 players, the Lancaster Girls Softball
Association
is a LARGE operation. Girls (and T-ball boys) from the age of 4 through
19 can participate in the LGSA. The League is open to players from Fairfield and
surrounding counties.

The LGSA consists of the following number of teams at each age group: 6U T-Ball - 6
teams (Boys and Girls, see "T-Ball") 8U Coach Pitch - 11 teams 10U Fast Pitch - 15 teams

Registration for Softball for the 2010 season is during the month of February on each
Wednesday from 6-8 PM and Sunday’s from 10-4 PM. Registration takes place at the
Old Wilson Building at 201 S. Broad St on the 3rd floor in room 318. The season begins
April 25th, 2010 and ends at the end of June.

The cost to play is $45.00 if you choose to participate in the fundraiser. If you choose
NOT to participate in the fundraiser, the cost is $65.00. This fee covers the cost of a
visor, shirt, shorts, and socks for your child and helps to cover the cost of umpires and
equipment. You will need to provide your child with shoes and a glove. If you need

The Fox Family YMCA offers swimming lessons year-round for children ages 6
month to adult. Classes meet in the Fox Pool and are held once a week.

Swimming programs are as follows:

SKIPS: Parent/Child Swim: Skips is a water program for ages 6 months to 3 ½ years.
It introduces water awareness and safety in a fun atmosphere. A parent must
participate.
Preschool Swim: Preschool swim classes are for children ages 3 ½ to 5 years old.
Beginning water adjustment and swimming skills are introduced. Parent does not
participate, but must stay and watch from pool observation room. No swimming
skills are needed to participate.
School Age Swim: Youth ages 6-13 are taught personal safety and growth, stroke
development, water sports and games. Children are divided by skill level during the
first class.
Home School Progressive Swim: This class is used as physical education for
home schooled children. Youth ages 6-13 are taught personal safety and growth,
stroke development, water sports and games. Children are divided by skill level
during the first class.
Special Populations Swim: This program is designed for those with physical and
or mental impairments to provide them the opportunity to participate in a swim
program designed for their personal needs. Pool skills will cover water adjustments,
safety and stroke development. The class will also help those individuals who are
water adjusted and ready to learn additional strokes and skills work on
distance/endurance swimming. The ultimate goal is helping individuals with Special
Olympics competition.
Adult/Teen Swim Lessons: Adults and Teenagers will learn basic strokes and/or
develop stroke efficiency. Lessons by appointment and need 2 or more to run the
class.
Private Lessons: Available for both adults and children, each 30-minute session
will provide skills to accomplish what students are trying to learn. A great
opportunity for swimmers who need to improve their stroke technique. To schedule

The Fox Family YMCA is home to the Lancaster Y Stingrays, a competitive
swimming program for children 6-18. All participants must be Family Y

and compete in the Southeast Ohio/West Virginia YMCA Cluster. All new
and returning members and parents of the team are required to attend a Fall
organization meeting at the Y. Parents are able to register their swimmers for the
season at this meeting for a cost of $25.00 per swimmer. It is in your best interest to
make every effort to attend this meeting if you plan on participating on the Y swim

Fall conditioning begins in September, with swim meets beginning in October and

The Fox Family YMCA offers synchronized swimming lessons for youth of all
ages and skill levels.

Beginner Synchro: Introduces swimmers to Synchronized Swimming. The skills
taught in this class will be repeated each session, with the goal of helping new synchro
swimmers move up to Intermediate Synchro. This class meets once a week and is
open to swimmers ages 4 and up who are comfortable swimming in the deep end.
Intermediate Synchro: For swimmers who have mastered basic Synchronized
Swimming skills, and are ready to learn a routine for the end of the year show. This
class meets twice weekly. Synchronized Swimming competition at the Novice level
will also be available to Intermediate swimmers who are interested.
Advanced Synchro: For swimmers who have mastered Novice level competition
and are ready to move on in competition. Admission to Advanced Synchro is based on
figure scores from the previous year or coach decision.
Open Synchro: Open synchro times are subject to cancellation, please check with
the coach. Open synchro is for people that are already signed up for synchro class at
the Y and want or need a little more work. Please pay at the Welcome Center and
check in with the coach when you arrive.

The Lancaster Synchro Rays is a Synchronized Swimming Club based at the
Fox Family YMCA in Lancaster, Ohio. The team's biggest goal is to provide a safe,
fun, and supportive experience for our synchronized swimmers. Classes are open to
any swimmer who is interested in learning the sport of synchronized swimming. All
ages and skill levels from beginner to advanced, Kindergarteners to Senior Citizens
may participate. Swimmers involved in synchronized swimming at the Y have the
option to participate in the yearly show which happens the Saturday before Mother's
Day.

Once basic skills have been mastered, swimmers can become involved in
competition. Participation at competition levels requires 2-3 days a week of practice
for children 12 and under, and 3-4 days a week for swimmers 13 and over.

requirement of the player is to provide his/her own glove and shoes, and to have fun.
