Lancaster Mommy - About Us

Lancaster Mommy is a labor of three mothers who live in Lancaster and
appreciate the town for all that it has to offer. It was born out of
frustration by Becky for missing all of the sign-ups for sports, and Ashley
for searching around time and again for the best birthday party location.
Sharing similar frustrations, Heather joined us and together we vowed
that no other parent or grandparent should have trouble finding that
information again!

Becky Schulz is the mother of four boys and the wife of a chef. She grew
up in the US and Guatemala and she and her husband lived in Minnesota,
Indiana, and New York before settling down in Ohio in 2007. Becky
earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Spanish in 1999 and
spent some years in ‘corporate America’, working for Northwest Airlines
and in the non-profit world, before taking some time off to take care of all
of the boys in her life. With no family in the area, Becky finds that she
really relies on her Mommy friends and is always eager to meet new ones.

Ashley Crook is the creative and driving force behind
LancasterMommy.com. She is responsible for the format and look of the
site and works hard to keep it updated and user-friendly. She is a fellow
mother-of-four, although she was graced with the only girl in the mix,
and when she is not working on LM she can usually be found carting her
children to the many activities they are involved in around town. Ashley
is also a transplant to Lancaster but has lived here since her marriage to
Tom (a silent but highly valuable member of the site). Her husband grew
up in town, which gives them the advantage of having family in the area
and a built-in knowledge of Lancaster and all of its charm.

Heather Overton grew up in Western New York along the shores of Lake
Erie. She graduated from Ohio University in 1998 earning her Master’s
Degree in Recreation and Sport Sciences and moved to Lancaster with
her family in 2007. Heather is our “outdoorsy one” and is a veritable
fount of information about all things outdoors. She has the unique
position of being married to the city’s Director of Parks and Recreation
and therefore is always in the know about events and activities around
town. The mother of three boys who keep her on her toes, Heather is an
invaluable member of our site.
